Description
[Chilkab Farm] Sikhye Powder makes it fast and simple to create authentic, traditional Korean sikhye at home. Making sikhye normally requires significant time and effort, but the biggest feature of this product is its convenience. Containing 100% domestic malted barley in easy-to-use tea bags, it allows anyone, including foreigners and the new generation, to effortlessly make this sweet drink from fermented rice.
How to Prepare
Put two bowls of cold, cooked rice and 2 litres of water into an electric rice cooker.
Immerse five of the sikhye tea bags in the water.
Set the rice cooker to ‘keep warm’ and leave for about 8 hours.
When 2-3 grains of rice float to the surface, the fermentation is complete.
Transfer the liquid to a pot, boil for 1-2 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
Tips
For those who prefer a sweeter taste, add sugar as desired after the final boiling step.
Once cooled, store the finished sikhye in the refrigerator and serve chilled.
